Diwali
Overview |
Diwali (दिवाळी), also known as the “Festival of Lights,” is one of the most important festivals in Maharashtra and across India. The name comes from the Sanskrit word “Deepavali” (दीपावली), meaning “row of lights” (दिपांची रांग). This five-day festival celebrates the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance.
